Douglas County Sheriff’s Search & Rescue Unit Training
Unit Training is held the second Thursday evening of each month from 1900-2100 hours and concluded with a day training the following weekend. Each month a different topic is selected to hone in our rescue skills. Several other trainings may be offered during the month for Technical Rope, K-9 training, Snowmobiles, ATV’s, or anything that needs the extra time to develop an efficient team.
A Sheriff’s background check must be performed on all new applicants prior to attending any of our trainings. We provide an academy each year, depending on the number of new applicants. Applications are always accepted and reviewed, however are processed for interviews only once a quarter. Applications accepted but reviewed and acknowledged as submitted.
